About PM Shri Scheme 

On July 29, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the first installment of the Pradhan Mantri Shree Yojana while inaugurating the All India Education Conference at Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
Under the first installment of Pradhan Mantri Shree Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred Rs 630 crore to 6207 schools of States/Union Territories/Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
Pradhan Mantri Shree Yojana is a very wonderful scheme of the Government of India.  Under the National Education Policy 2020, about 14500 schools across the country will be upgraded under the PM Shri Scheme.  More than 20 lakh students in the country will directly benefit from this scheme of the Government of India. 
The schools which will be updated under PM Shri Yojana will be all government schools these schools will be selected in collaboration with States.

To avail of the benefits of the scheme schools will have to apply on their online portal. The portal will be opened four times in a year for the first 2 years of the scheme. After application, verification of a school will be done by the states/UTs/ KVS and JNV after this this list of selected schools will be sent to the ministry.

MAIN POINT OF PM Shri School SCHEME :

  1. It is a centrally sponsored scheme this scheme will be funded by the Central Government and implemented by the state government.
  2. Under modern, alternative and Holistic ways of education will be adopted.
  3. This scheme talks about learning and not about cramming.
  4. Modern infrastructure facilities including the latest technology smart classes games added in upgraded schools.

Who will bear the cost of PM Shri Yojana?

A centrally sponsored scheme is one where the cost of implementation is likely to be split in the 60:40 ratio among the union government and the states and union territory.
In the case of North Eastern states Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand Jammu and Kashmir, and UTs without legislature the center's contribution can go up to 90%.

OBJECTIVE OF PM SHRI Yojna :

  1. To improve the education in schools in which education can ensure the development of children so that they can become good human beings and not just make them money-making machines.
  2. The main objective of this scheme is to implement the objectives of the National Teacher Policy 2020.

  4. Learning and cognitive development will be addressed.  Along with its knowledge, it will be taught to use it at the right place and at the right time.
  5. Education will be given to children in the form of stories.
  6. To create individuals equipped with key skills of the 21st century.
  7. To make India a vibrant knowledge society.

IMPLEMENTATION OF PM- SHRI  SCHEME IN:

  1. All the events of national education policy will be released.
  2. Schools will be selected for this scheme from among the schools concerned by the central state union territory and local bodies.
  3. Existing schools will be strengthed and they will collected with modern technology.
  4. The school which has been upgraded will be made a source of inspiration for other schools.
  5. The School has been upgraded in mentorship has been provided to nearby schools.

Methods of education under this scheme:-

  1. In this scheme experiment integrated education will be given.
  2. Game-based learning education will be given.
  3. Inquiry and discovery-based education will be given.
  4. Educational results will be improved.

This scheme is divided into many stages:-

  1. Foundational stage: which is from pre-school to grade one or two in which play-based learning is preferred.
  2. preparatory stage: from grade 3 to 5 in which light textbook and formal learning will be added.
  3. Middle stage: from grade 6 to 8 in which the subject teacher will be introduced. 
  4. Secondary stage: from grade 9 to 12 this is multidisciplinary.

HOW WILL IT BE DIFFERENT FROM KV  & JNV?

Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya came entirely under the central Ministry of Education.
They are fully funded by the union under Central sector schemes.
KVS largely gets to children of union Government employees posted in states and UTs.JNV's were set up to nurture talented students in rural parts of the country.

FEATURES OF PM SHRI SCHOOL SCHEME:- 

  1. Laboratories will be added to the schools.
  2. Smart classes will be created in schools.
  3. A library will be added to the schools.
  4. Playing equipment will be provided in the schools.
  5. Art-related rooms will be made in the schools.
  6. Schools with the modern infrastructure will be built.
  7. Water harvesting and waste recycling will be added to the schools.
  8. Energy-efficient infrastructure will be created in the schools.
  9. Schools will be developed in the form of green schools.
  10. Biological lifestyle will be included in the curriculum of schools.

IMPACT OF PM SHRI SCHOOL SCHEME:-

  1. Efficiency in learning outcomes in every classroom. 
  2. Evolution will be done at all levels.
  3. A conceptual understanding of real-life situations will be developed. 
  4. Teacher education will be based on the application of knowledge. 
  5. There will be competency-based education.
